Mini Bag- Batik
Mini Bag- Batik
Organic hemp and repurposed vintage batik textiles are used from the mountainous regions of North Vietnam.
***These fabrics are originally worn as jackets or skirts by the Hmong women, therefore no two are exactly the same. Batik patterns and colors vary***
The Hmong tribe women create hemp fabric by growing, harvesting, drying, and stripping the individual stalks into strands. They then press the strands in a mortar, boil, spin and coat them with wax, and then weave the fibers on an old wooden loom into hemp fabric. Almost all year around the tribe women can be seen with hemp fibers wound around their hands, to connect the separate fibers to make one usable thread.
The most eye catching feature of this mini bag is the indigo batik fabric. These vintage fabrics are originally worn as jackets or skirts by the Hmong women.
The mini bags have an inside cotton lining, and a pull string to be used as a wristlet or a purse pouch.
